Vesakh 2555 BE celebration

Just had a time to update this blog, hmmmph it was already a week ago since my last post. Oke, we start from:

Happy Vesakha 2555 BE!
Hopefully all living beings be happy.

A little late, but at least better late than never. Hhahaaa.

I always love the celebration of vesakh. When the candles and lantern glow in the dark. I feel something like... peaceful. Yess peaceful!
By the way, I see in Medan, vesakh celebrated with more enthusiasm. Almost every week in a month, there's Vesakh celebration anywhere. Full month of celebration!

I was celebrate it in some place, like in: ITBC (Indonesian Theravada Buddhist Center), Vihara Mahasampatti, to prayed and did some puja rituals.
Also in KMB USU: "Vegetarian Festival", to celebrate it and have some fun.
But unfortunately, I haven't any photos of them. Just photos in KMB, so I want to share here:

Penampilan, metroseksual, dan professionalitas

"Don't judge the book by it's cover"

Jangan menilai orang dari tampilan luarnya aja. Kata orang, penampilan luar itu gak penting. Setuju apa nggak?

Oke, gini deh. Misalnya ada dua orang:

a. Cantik/ganteng, tapi gak bisa bergaya
b. Biasa aja, tapi gaya nya keren

Pilih yang mana?


Coba kalo ada pilihan yg c. cakep/ganteng dan keren, gue sih mau milih itu aja! Hhaha, tapi gak ada sih.
Gue sendiri lebih milih yang B.
Kadang, kecakepan orang itu gak ngejamin gimana sense nya dia. Percuma punya wajah cakep, tapi gak tau gimana caranya merapikan diri.
Gue sih lebih suka ngeliat cewek/cowok yg peduli penampilan. Walaupun kata orang laki-laki gentle itu gak usah terlalu peduli sama penampilannya. Cowok metroseksual, sebutannya. Tapi menurut gue, cowok metroseksual jauuuuh lebih oke daripada cowok jorok, bau, dan urakan.

So, emang kenapa kalo cowok pake syal? Emang kenapa kalo cowok bawa handbag?
Bobby R. gak begitu cakep sebenernya, tapi dia bisa mengkondisikan gimana dia jadi keren banget.
Kalo Adam G., emang the perfecto banget tuh! Dia cakep dan keren.
Bagaimana seseorang mengkombinasikan penampilannya supaya terlihat menarik, disitulah letak seni nya! Dari situ lah kreativitas seseorang itu dilihat.

Sekarang ini, udah gak jaman berpenampilan urakan semau-mau gue. Walaupun ada beberapa orang yg berlagak sederhana katanya, dengan berpenampilan biasa-biasa aja. Boleh aja berpenampilan sederhana, tapi yg penting tetep ngejaga wibawa dan harus disesuaikan sama tempat dong. Masa iya, mau ke pesta pake piyama? Masa iya mau ke kantor pake celana pendek? Kalo dirumah sih boleh-boleh aja ya. Sederhana kan bukan berarti gak tau aturan.

Walaupun memang, kecakepan alami itu gak bakal luntur. Tapi sebagai manusia (gak usah munafik), pasti kalo ketemu orang baru, pertama kali bakal menilai dari tampilan luar dulu. Iya gak sih? Orang dengan gaya yg keren, walaupun wajahnya biasa aja, pasti bakal terlihat lebih 'wah'.
Well, penilaian seseorang memang bukan sepenuhnya dari penampilan aja. Tapi gimana pun juga, penampilan itu menunjukkan professionalitas.

Contohnya deh, kayak kebanyakan designer-designer. Mungkin sebagian orang mikir kalo para designer atau fashion stylist pria agak 'melambai' dan kurang gentle. Hmmph, sebenernya sih gak juga. Tapi karena cara berpakaiannya yg terlalu modis, jadi kesannya begitu. Ya gimana lah, tuntutan profesi sih. Pernah berpikir gak, gimana kalo para designer pria tersebut cuma berpakaian seadanya, maksudnya cuma pake jeans belel sama kaos gombor gitu. Professionalitas nya pasti langsung diragukan!
Juga berlaku buat para pekerja profesi yg lain: businessman, artis, motivator, dokter, guru, pengacara, musisi, daaan lain-lain.

Jadi, kalo kalian bercita-cita menjadi para executive yg punya professionalitas nantinya, dari sekarang belajar lah untuk lebih peduli sama penampilan. Karena seberapa kecil pun pengaruhnya, penampilan menunjukkan wibawa dan kharisma orang tersebut. Yah kecuali kalo cita-citanya cuma mau jadi seniman asal-asalan. Silakan aja berpenampilan ngasal. Seniman yg berkualitas juga gak ngasal-ngasal amat deh kayaknya.

The dream wedding

The Royal Wedding seemed endless to discussed. Like a fairy tale story, so magnificent, gorgeous, and luxurious. Damn, I can't take my eyes off of it! All of the royal: the royal concept, the royal design, the royal building, the royal vehicles, the royal gown, the royal cake, and also the royal guest. So the conclusion is: The Royal Wedding now becomes everyone's dream!

They were married at Westminster Abbey on April, 29th 2011. Attended the service at the Abbey, along with around 1,900 guests.

And the designer of the wedding dress is finally revealed! Yes, the wonderful Royal Wedding Dress which is worn by Elizabeth Catherine Middleton, has been designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who for several months denied her involvement with the dress. Then Sarah Burton released this following statement:

“Catherine looked absolutely stunning today, and the team at Alexander McQueen are very proud of what we have created. The dress was just one component of a spectacular day, and I do not think it is appropriate to comment any further beyond saying that I personally am very grateful and honoured to have been given the opportunity to work on this project, and I wish TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge every good wish for the future.”

Stepping out of the Rolls Royce Phantom VI, Catherine revealed her wedding dress. All eyes were on her as she walked down!

Jadwal acara PIM Fashion Week 2011: Summer Fashiontastic

Salam fashion!
Kita sebagai pecinta fashion yang juga senantiasa aktif untuk memajukan fashion tanah air kepada para pembaca atau penikmatnya "paperless generation", jangan lewatkan gelaran event fashion yang diselenggarakan oleh @PondokIndahMall.

Pondok Indah Mall, kembali menghadirkan event presentasi serupa fashion week yang bertemakan Summer Fashiontastic yang akan dimulai dari tanggal 30 April 2011 s/d 8 May 2011. Event ini adalah event yang sudah ke empat kali nya digelar setiap tahun dan digelar untuk mempresentasikan koleksi musim semi dan panas dari brand-brand fashion yang tersedia di Pondok Indah Mall. Event yang di selenggarakan selama 2 minggu di akhir pekan tersebut mengambil beberapa tema dalam setiap show nya, seperti: Summer Ace, Summer Breeze, Summer Festive, Summer Hip, dan Summer Grace.
Lokasi acara : di Atrium Pondok Indah Mall 2, pintu masuk butik Aigner.

Mengusung beberapa Desainer ternama dan beberapa tenant bergengsi untuk ikut berkolaborasi dalam event tersebut. Diantaranya adalah pagelaran fantastic dari Ina Thomas, Iwan Tirta, dan Ivan Gunawan. Beberapa internasional-brands tenant yang ikut serta antara lain Sogo Dept Store, Metro Dept Store, Batik Keris, Zara, Guess, GAP, Giordano, Mark & Spencer, Next, Masimo Dutti, Aldo, League dan Geox.

TENTANG PONDOK INDAH MALL
Pondok Indah Mall adalah salah satu mall pertama di Jakarta yang dibangun pada tahun 1991 dan merupakan tren pembangunan mall di bagian lain Jakarta. PIM juga sering disebut sebagai modern mall berskala besar pertama yang dibangun di Jakarta, di desain dengan konsep modern. 3 days holiday

Get a holiday for 3 days! From Friday to Sunday. Actually I feel less, but it's an occasion to refresh my brain from the crazy college. Although tomorrow we have to go to campus again again and study. Huaahh!

Went to Mikie Holiday with Intan, Valen, Arisma, Erda, Nurul, Amal, Ikhwan, and Nazim. You  know, this is my first time go to Berastagi. (Wow, finally I can go there after months of living in North Sumatera.) These are the pics:

Cold but hot? Yess, very shiny there whereas it's windy. Freak! It makes our skin become darker. Wahh, I have to bleach it again.

And on Saturday-Sunday, I join 'saHIVa's training'. This is one of my campus organizations, for the people who care about drugs and HIV/AIDS. Got the new experiences, new challenges, new friends. And I has authorized as a volunteer of drugs XXVI generation. Hmmph, I like social activity actually, but I haven't really sure to become a volunteer here, because of many considerations. But I think, I want to learn before.

Sekali ngelihat gue, orang juga tau suku apa gue ini. Yess, I'm Chinese! Tulen, 100% dari nyokap bokap gue bahkan nenek kakek gue (walaupun gak tertutup kemungkinan juga sih ada keturunan Jepang nya atau Korea atau apa kek gitu, heheehee).
Tapi setelah kenal, orang mungkin ragu-ragu, apakah si Dress ini chinese atau bukan sebenernya? Banyak orang bilang gue chinese yg bukan chinese. Yah gue juga gak ngerti apa maksudnya, susah dijelasin.

Bukannya gue mau ngomongin SARA atau apa, tapi ini masalah identitas.
Dulu di Lampung, dengan model wajah orang-orang Lampung yg juga rada sipit dan putih, mungkin gue bisa tersamar. Di Medan, semuanya beda, lebih berasa rasisme nya. Apalagi Chinese di Medan harus bisa berbahasa Hokkien.

Nah itu dia! Oke, sekarang ini memang sih gue belum bisa berbahasa Hokkien. Awalnya juga gue gak minat belajar bahasa macem-macem. Abis gue pikir, bahasa Inggris yg dipelajarin dari SD aja sampe sekarang masih susah, apalagi bahasa Hokkien yg gue gak bisa sama sekali? Tapi, gue mau belajar loh! Belajar bahasa gak bakal ada matinya. Lagi pula, gue sadar sama apa yg dibilang Jackie Chan di atas, bahwa gue sebagai penerus keturunan harus bisa melestarikan budaya. Gue gak mau cuma sekedar orang bertampang Chinese, tapi gak tau apa-apa tentang kebudayaan dan bahasanya. Dan target gue, 2 tahun dari sekarang deh, lo udah bisa denger gue ngomong hokkien. Hhahaaha. (Bukan sombong, tapi ini janji buat motivasi gue)

Di lain sisi, gue juga bangga dengan ketidakkentalan gue sebagai Chinese. Gue bangga menjadi seorang keturunan, sekaligus gue juga bangga terlahir di Indonesia, bertanah air Indonesia, WNI, dan berbahasa Indonesia.
Terserah kalo ada yg mau menghina gue, tapi tetep ya gue bangga-bangga aja tuh! Well, rasa nasionalisme itu gak bisa dilihat dari suku mana lo berasal kan? Gue tetep pakai batik, gue juga tetep belajar bahasa Hokkien. Gue bersahabat dengan orang-orang Chinese, gue juga bersahabat dengan pribumi. Intinya, dua-duanya harus selaras karena gue bagian dari keduanya.

Dan gue sangat sangat terinspirasi sama Chinese-chinese Indonesia yg gayanya keren, kayak Daniel Mananta tuh. Dia bisa-bisanya dong bikin clothing line dengan tema Indonesia: Damn, I Love Indonesia!

Anjrit kan keren gila! Yg kayak gini nih baru bener-bener "Proud to be Chinese, proud to be Indonesian!"

Sorry ya, postingan ini gak bermaksud nyindir siapa-siapa atau gimana. Gue cuma mau ngasih saran:

Buat lo semua dari suku manapun, RAS apapun, jangan sampe deh lo gak bisa berbahasa daerah lo sendiri. Malu! Kalaupun belum bisa, belajar lah! Pokoknya, lo mesti menghargai itu dan lestarikanlah sampe anak-cucu lo.

Budaya itu jangan dibiarin punah gitu aja. Karena pendahulu-pendahulu kita udah susah payah menciptakan budaya itu sendiri, dan kita sebagai generasi penerus wajib mempertahankannya. Yeeeahh, semangat buat pelestarian budaya!

Branded or not?

Yess, the brand is not fashion. But how we can mix and match the stuffs that called FASHION.

I don't agree if there is a striking rich snobs. We often see many peoples displaying their luxury things, or talk about their wealth. They also spoke as though that they were very understanding about the various kinds of branded things. Huhh, talking with people like that is very boring, right?

For me, branded or not is not important. I never see the brand or special shop to buy something. If I like something then I'll buy it, wherever it is even though the market. The cheap things are not always bad, and the expensive things are not always better too.

Maybe the differences of them just on the quality. But I think for the style, quality is not really the number one.

For example, you have an expensive and branded handbag, the quality is good, even you can keep it until 10 years later. But, do you want to wear the same bag during 10 years?

Hhhaha, of course NO!

It's better if we buy the cheaper handbag and the remaining money we can use for the another handbag, right? So we get double handbag!

But one thing that you should remember: Keep in original!
We know that an ori is more expensive than the pirated. But in many side, if we are good at choosing, we'll definitely get the cheap and good stuffs.
Try to not buy the pirated things. Because when we buy the ori, it means we appreciate the makers.

It just my opinion, don't be sucks!

New Hairstyle

Had a haircut yesterday. Actually I have it cut for the 2nd times, because it had failed on the previous.
I learned something because of it,

Not always the expensive salon better quality than a cheap salon!

Yes, because I have experienced on it yesterday. In 'The very expensive salon', they cut my hair to be like the aunties! Especially, the barber is transvestite. Hmmph, besides I feel comfortable talking with the barber, nothing special. I even know that they're expensive at all when I want to pay. Huahh bankrupt!

So, on the next day, I went to another 'cheaper salon'. And I'm so statisfied with the result, because they make my hair look more funky! Hhahaha :)

So, what do you think? Which one do you like, the old or the new one?

My friends have different opinions about this. Maybe they're shocked? You know, when I come to my class today, they clapping noise! While there are the lecture teaching in front of the class. Crazy!

Some people said that I look fresher in the new one, look like a Korean girl. Hhahaa, actually I never like everything about Korean something like Korean Drama, Korean artists, Korean songs, Korean style, etc. But in occasionally, it's ok if I'll try their style.
But some people also said that I look boyish in this side, and they like the old one. Yah, it's according to you, guys.

But I prefer to choose the new one!
Because in my new, I think it more simple, slight and easy. Even, I can go out without combing first! Do you know, like a messy hair. Hehhee, cool isn't?

It feels so sucks if I dressed up in the morning before go to campus, but I don't receive the good response from anyone else. Even they thought that I'm weird in my outfit! Huhh!

I was tired of hearing all those complaints about me. They always and always comment on me. Some people who know-it-on the style give me more advice, bla bla and bla... Boy friends are laughing when they looked at me. Hey, what do you know about it?

I don't know what they like. Sometimes when I choose 'the gembel' style, then they like it. Hhahaa, yes! They like 'the gembel' style. It's something like blue jeans, neat shirt or t-shirt. Whereas in fact, I like my girlie style, when I wear skirt and the colourful socks. Hmmph, not really girlie, sometimes I like in tomboy style too.
Guys, don't judge me by the outfit that I wear, because it's my mood's work. My real personality is not necessarily the same as that.

One thing that you need to know about fashion is fashion is art.
We can do anything in fashion and make it as creative as possible. Well, no matter it's weird or not. Because the most important thing is how you make your style different from the others, how to make it unique on your way. Don't care about other people's opinions. They don't know anything!

V-Day is Flour Day!

Sorry for the late post, but I wanna say,

Last Sunday, I attended KMB's Sunday Event. Pray, more games, and gift exchange. Do you know that my gift is in Diana, and also Diana's gift is in me! Hhahaa, many people around, but we got each other! I give her the frame, and I got Cadbury Chocolate from her:

Usually, peoples celebrate V-Day with their sweetheart. But me, just celebrate it with my friends, my beloved friends. Well, it's able to love anyone right? Not only with our boyfriend/girlfriend.
