"If I die today I want my work to live tomorrow." Tasha Bleu
Treu Bleu Imagery
TB: I launched my brand last January and most of what I learned was from watching other photographers when I was modeling and from tutorials on Youtube.
ACG: Would you say your focus of photography is FASHION?
TB: Yes, I am a fashion photographer with a focus on industry fashion events and the creation of fashion images. When I first launched my brand, I was a real estate photographer and I have my work published in various design publications (not many people know this) but fashion is where my heart is and I'm learning more and more about the composition of fashion imagery as I continue to study the industry each day and work with more beauty and fashion industry professionals.
TB: Great question! I do it alone for the most part, depending on if I am working with certain conrtibutors on a certain project. There are many factors to "the money shot" i.e. angle, body language, lighting, wardrobe, hair, makeup, placement, composition and the task at hand.
ACG: Are there any fashion photographers that inspire you?
TB: Definitely!! David LaChappelle, Richard Warren and Patrick Demarchelier...(who I would give my left leg to assist)
TB: My absolute favorite shoot of mine thus far has yet to be released. I am currently editing for a specific publication submission that was shot in NY with celebrity wardrobe stylist Latoya Berry, hair stylist/manicurist Sammie Jo Vaughan, makeup artist Gabriella Lascano and my muse Quinee Lewis. It is my favorite because of the body language captured and the contributors involved...Quinee REALLY got into character and the concept was executed very well...much progress from all of us. stay tuned.
ACG: I've seen some of your amazing quick sketches for your shoots and wondered if you have any other hidden talents... Are you also a Visual Artist?
TB: Thank you, yes I often draw out my concepts before I execute them but I consider myself a visual artist because I aim to create "imagery" and use more imagination with every project.
ACG: Artist are always sensitive about their work, however, you have always recieved a great response from facebook..has this had an impact on your confidence and work ethic in any way?
TB: I am VERY grateful for the response that I have gotten from supporters around the WORLD in such little time, especially from industry professionals that I admire dearly and it has kept me going and wanting to continue to move forward and be more confident in my craft.
ACG: Who would you *LOVE* to work with someday ?
TB: Patrick Demarchelier, Patrick Demarchelier, Patrick Demarchelier.
ACG: Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
TB: Hopefully alive and if I'm alive, I want to be making Patrick Demarchelier money.
